Doing research when writing can be great fun. In this case I was exploring a beach on the rugged west coast of New Zealand’s South Island looking for the jade pebbles that can sometimes be found in the recently disturbed shingle along the  high tide mark (where the stones meet the sand).
This isolated area is awesome. At times when walking the beach here, you feel you’re the only person on the planet. I hope you get a chance to read  my new thriller Above High Tide that is set in this amazing part of the world.
